However, the platform offers higher priced items as well.

Unlike Swiggy’s flagship food delivery service, which caters to a broad set of users, Toing is positioned entirely for price-sensitive consumers, a person familiar with the new launch said. The app operates on a marketplace model similar to Swiggy, listing dishes from a range of restaurants. It is currently available on the Google Play Store.

Swiggy did not respond to CNBC-TV18’s queries on the launch of Toing.

A banner on the app states, “What you see offline is what you pay online,” signaling a competitive stance against Rapido’s budget-focused food delivery service, Ownly.

However, there is little difference in the final pricing of the food item when ordered via Swiggy or Toing.

According to the app interface, delivery is free for all orders above ₹99, with a standard delivery fee of ₹19 for orders below that. Toing too, levies a platform fee of ₹12 (lower than Swiggy’s ₹15). Other charges per order include the restaurant GST. While the main Swiggy app charges restaurant packaging charges, that currently is free on Toing. This reporter placed an order for the same dish (Priced at ₹199) from both Swiggy and Toing. The final price of Swiggy was ₹262 (₹199 + Restaurant GST of ₹36.42 + Restaurants packaging of ₹11.93 and a platform fee of ₹14.99), while the final price for the same dish on Toing was ₹247 (restaurant GST ₹35.82, platform fee of ₹

12).

The launch of Toing expands Swiggy’s portfolio to seven different offerings (and six different apps), including food delivery, it’s quick commerce offering Instamart, its going out offering Dineout, its 10-minute food delivery app Snacc, travel and lifestyle concierge app Crew, services offering Pyng, and now Toing.

Also Read: Swiggy shares jump 5% after Nomura projects 25% upside with ‘buy’ rating

The new app also overlaps with Swiggy’s existing value-focused feature, the 99 Store, which offers food items under ₹99 within the main Swiggy app, along with other options.

Toing appears to directly compete with Rapido’s food delivery business, and the launch comes at a time when Swiggy is exploring the sale of its stake in Rapido. In its recent quarterly earnings, Swiggy said it is actively re-evaluating its 12% minority stake in the company, while also acknowledging that Rapido’s move could lead to a potential conflict of interest. “As a shareholder, we are extremely happy with their success and value-creation; but do acknowledge a potential conflict of interest that may arise in the future,” the company said.

Speaking about competition at the time, Swiggy added that it has created new offerings, including on the affordability front, that it will continue to roll out to ensure that competition does not get a clear opening.

First Published: Sept 15, 2025 4:55 PM IST

Food delivery platform Swiggy has launched a new standalone food delivery app called Toing in Pune, targeting value-conscious…

[257
18,2409,19,17,279,22467,82,46334
0":"post-65944","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mobile","8":"tag-eire","9":"tag-food-delivery","10":"tag-ie","11":"tag-ireland","12":"tag-mobile","13":"tag-swiggy","14":"tag-technology","15":"tag-toing
["GET
