{"id":663324,"date":"2026-08-30T07:55:43","date_gmt":"2026-08-30T07:55:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/663324\/"},"modified":"2026-08-30T07:55:43","modified_gmt":"2026-08-30T07:55:43","slug":"male-teenager-in-critical-condition-after-longford-e-scooter-crash-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/663324\/","title":{"rendered":"Male teenager in critical condition after Longford e-scooter crash \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">A teenager is in critical condition in hospital following an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/escooters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/escooters\/\">e-scooter<\/a> crash on Friday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Another teenager, who was a passenger, is being treated for injuries. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/an-garda-siochana\/\">Garda\u00ed<\/a> have appealed for information on the incident which occurred on Battery Road in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/longford\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/tags\/longford\">Longford<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Emergency services responded to reports of the single vehicle crash at about 10.40pm. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Garda\u00ed said the male adult driver was brought to Regional Hospital Mullingar and subsequently transferred to Dublin\u2019s Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries where he remained in critical condition on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">They said the female juvenile passenger was being treated at Regional Hospital Mullingar for non-life threatening injuries.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">The road remained closed on Saturday for a technical examination with local diversions in place.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Garda\u00ed are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward, particularly road users with camera footage taken in the vicinity of the crash between 10:15pm and 10:45pm. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Anyone with information can contact Longford Garda station on (043) 335 0570, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A teenager is in critical condition in hospital following an e-scooter crash on Friday.
