Aussie rock legends Rose Tattoo have confirmed their frontman Angry Anderson is being treated after suffering a heart attack while on tour in Europe.<\/p>\n
The band announced the cancellation of their final European tour on August 10 and in a post on social media channels on Monday, shared that their hardman singer remained in hospital.<\/p>\n
Previously, the Tatts shared a photo of 79-year-old Anderson performing with the band in Cologne on August 8.<\/p>\n
But their next scheduled appearance at the Alcatraz Metal festival in Belgium the next day was cancelled.<\/p>\n
The following day, the band shared Anderson had been hospitalised due to a \u201cmedical issue\u201d and the remaining dates on the farewell European tour would not go ahead.<\/p>\n
The latest update shared that Anderson had suffered \u201ca cardiac arrest\u201d and thanked fans for their messages for his recovery.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour thoughts, prayers and well wishes mean more to Angry and his family than we can express,\u201d the statement on their social pages read.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would like to let everyone know that Angry suffered a cardiac arrest and is currently in hospital receiving treatment and the care he needs.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this time, we kindly ask that you please respect the privacy of Angry and his family as they focus on Angry, his treatment and his recovery.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe appreciate everyone\u2019s understanding and ask that you continue to keep Angry and his family in your thoughts and prayers during the days ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n
It appears unlikely the Rose Tattoo run of farewell shows in Australia, due to kick-off in September, will go ahead.<\/p>\n
The band announced recently these shows would be \u201cOur Last Ride\u201d before retiring from the stage after 50 years of hard rocking.<\/p>\n
Since its formation in Sydney in the mid 1970s, the Tatts have proved to be a resilient outfit, replenishing its line-up across the decades to continue performing live.<\/p>\n
They also proved to be an influential music export with Guns N\u2019 Roses among the hard rock heroes who have cited them as inspirations for their sound.<\/p>\n
The Tatts\u2019 classic hits including Bad Boy For Love, Rock\u2019n\u2019Roll Outlaw and We Can\u2019t Be Beaten are rusted on to the Australian soundtrack.<\/p>\n
