The screening is set for Sunday, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. local time at the John Bassett Theatre, TIFF\u2019s new screening venue located at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t\u201cThe Last Photo\u201d follows an ex-DEA agent on a mission for revenge in the South American jungle. Cast members include Stuart Martin, Fra Fee, Jackie Kay, Costanza Andrade, Carolina Henao and Marlon Moreno. Snyder directed the drama-thriller and co-wrote the script with Kurt Johnstad.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tSnyder is probably best known for his work in the DC cinematic universe, an era immortalized by the four-hour eponymous \u201cSnyder Cut\u201d of the 2017 superhero epic \u201cJustice League.\u201d He also helmed \u201cMan of Steel\u201d and \u201cBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice\u201d for the franchise. Some of his other notable works include \u201cDawn of the Dead,\u201d \u201c300\u201d and \u201cWatchmen.\u201d He also has an \u201cEscape from New York\u201d remake in the works with the Picture Company and StudioCanal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\tOther films set to screen at TIFF include \u201cI Play Rocky,\u201d a Sylvester Stallone biopic about the making of his 1976 boxing drama \u201cRocky.\u201d \u201cGreen Book\u201d filmmaker Peter Farrelly directs and Anthony Ippolito stars in the titular role. \u201cMisty Green,\u201d an industry drama written, directed by and starring Chris Rock, is also part of the festival\u2019s Special Presentation programming. Rock leads an all-star cast of Rosalind Eleazar, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace and Anthony Anderson.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto  lrv-a-font-body-m   \">\n\t<a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/t\/tiff-2026\/\" id=\"auto-tag_tiff-2026\" data-tag=\"tiff-2026\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TIFF 2026<\/a> runs Sept. 10-20 in Downtown Toronto. The festival will close with \u201cVilleneuve: The Rise of a Legend,\u201d a sports drama about the early career of Canadian racing icon Gilles Villeneuve.
