Dr Crokes produced a brilliant performance at Austin Stack Park yesterday, overcoming Na Gaeil in the Kerry Club Championship final on a scoreline of 0-20 to 1-12.<\/p>\n

The Killarney club entered this game as favourites, having also won this competition in 2024. In contrast, their opponents were playing in their first ever senior final.<\/p>\n

Kerry forward Tony Brosnan would prove to be the star performer on the day, notching a personal tally of 0-8. That helped lead Dr Crokes to a record tenth triumph in this competition.<\/p>\n

Dr Crokes Paid Tribute To Former Teammate After Kerry Championship Win<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr Crokes are a club that are used to experiencing success, having won big competition at county, provincial, and All-Ireland level down through the years.\u00a0Despite this, yesterday’s victory was a particularly poignant one for the Kerry side.<\/p>\n

Their former player Jamie Doolan would pass away earlier this year at the age of 36 on the day that Kerry won the All-Ireland final. He previously represented his county at underage level, before going on to become a key player at Dr Crokes.<\/p>\n

After accepting the trophy at yesterday’s final, Crokes captain David Shaw would pay tribute to their former teammate and mentor.<\/p>\n

I want to dedicate today to our great friend Jamie Doolan. It\u2019s been an incredibly tough few weeks for everyone involved in Crokes, especially the Doolan family.<\/p>\n

Jamie was a teammate, a former supporter of our senior team, he was involved in the club minor team this year, but most importantly he was a friend to everyone.<\/p>\n

He will always be remembered for his sheer passion and love of the black and amber and how giddy he was when he got into the game.<\/p>\n

An amazingly skilful and unselfish corner forward, he played the game in typical Crokes fashion. Jamie will be sorely missed; he will always be with us in everything we do as a club, and no doubt he\u2019s looking down and smiling today.<\/p>\n

We love you, Jamie.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The tributes would not stop there.<\/p>\n

Dr Crokes would bring the Michael O’Connor Cup to Jamie Doolan’s grave the day of the game.<\/p>\n

On what was a big day for the Kerry club, it was fantastic to see one of their recently departed members very much at the forefront of his thoughts.<\/p>\n
