\n\tThe Recording Academy sent an email to voting members on Wednesday (Sept. 2) reminding them of its strict rules about Grammy campaigning. Here\u2019s the text of that email, in full:<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWelcome to the\u00a069th Grammy Awards\u00a0Season.<\/p>\n

\n\tAs the season gets underway, we want to ensure all members are familiar with the rules and guidelines for For Your Consideration (FYC) communications and more broadly the Academy\u2019s Voting Integrity and Vote Solicitation Guidelines.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile FYC-type events, screenings, advertisements, and formal communications are not prohibited outside of the Recording Academy, certain rules and guidelines must be adhered to. Please familiarize yourself with our full FYC policy.<\/p>\n

\n\tPlease also familiarize yourself with Rule Nine: Voting Integrity and Vote Solicitation Guidelines from the Academy\u2019s rulebook, which among other things reflects the Voter Code of Conduct requirement that judging be based solely on the voter\u2019s analysis of merit.<\/p>\n

\n\tHere are some important highlights to ensure compliance with the FYC policy:<\/p>\n

\n\t1. FYC communications cannot include category\/field\/balloting identifiers or proprietary entry information. Example: category numbers or entry IDs may not be referenced.<\/p>\n

\n\t2. FYC communications must include an opt-out option.<\/p>\n

\n\t3. FYC communications cannot include Recording Academy trademarks, logos, gramophone imagery, or Grammy promotional assets. For example, this means that FYC communications must not include any version of the gramophone logo, the Grammy Award statuette, or promotional assets related to the Grammy Awards.<\/p>\n

\n\t4. FYC communications cannot include chart numbers, streams, sales figures, or RIAA awards.<\/p>\n

\n\t5. FYC events may not include gifts, meals, alcohol, or hospitality that could imply vote consideration.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Academy also included this reminder: \u201cPlease be advised that the Recording Academy does not release member contact information. Be cautious of vendors claiming access to official member lists.\u201d<\/p>\n
