Six people have been taken to hospital following a serious collision in Armagh<\/a> on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

The emergency services, including the Air Ambulance, were sent to the incident on Newtownhamilton Road at 8.57am.<\/p>\n

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service has said five emergency ambulances, two HART Teams, an emergency planning officer and an ambulance doctor were also sent to the scene.<\/p>\n

One casualty was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast<\/a> while another was taken by ambulance. Four patients were taken to Craigavon Area Hospital by ambulance.<\/p>\n

A NIAS spokesperson said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service<\/a> received a 999 call at 08:57 on Wednesday, 2nd September, following reports of an RTC in the Newtownhamilton Road area, Armagh.<\/p>\n

“NIAS tasked 5 Emergency Ambulances, 2 HART Teams, an Emergency Planning Officer, an Ambulance Doctor and the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board, to the incident.<\/p>\n

“Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was brought to Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast by Ambulance. 1 patient was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital by Air Ambulance. 4 patients were brought to Craigavon Area Hospital by Ambulance.”<\/p>\n
