\n\tApple Original Films on Wednesday released a teaser trailer for Being Heumann<\/a>, the new film from Oscar-winning CODA filmmaker Si\u00e2n Heder that is gearing up for its world premiere next week as the opening film of the Toronto Film Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe film tells the true story of disability-rights advocate Judy\u00a0Heumann, played by Doctor Who alum Ruth Madeley<\/a>. Based on Heumann\u2019s memoir, it centers on the year 1977, when Heumann led more than 100 disabled people to take over the San Francisco Federal Building, kicking off a 28 day sit-in \u2014 the longest occupation of a federal building in U.S. history.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe protesters form a tightly bound community, refusing to leave until the government enforces section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, which required all federal spaces to become accessible.<\/p>\n

\n\tMark Ruffalo<\/a> plays the bureaucrat who stands in the protesters\u2019 way. Dylan O\u2019Brien, Jon Beavers, Rob Delaney and Ray Fisher\u00a0also star in the pic, which will debut in select theaters November 6 before dropping on Apple TV on November 13.<\/p>\n

\n\tTIFF<\/a> runs September 10-20.<\/p>\n
