The spending will cover Google\u2019s AI unit, DeepMind \u2014 which has an operation in London \u2014 as well as AI research related to science and healthcare, according to a company statement on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">Part of the investment will focus on a new data centre in Waltham Cross that will help meet growing demand for Google\u2019s services, including search and maps. The outlay is set to support a projected 8,250 jobs annually in the UK, Google said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph paywall \">US companies OpenAI and Nvidia are planning to pledge investments in UK data centres worth billions of dollars during Trump\u2019s visit to the country.
