These are said to be the 2026 Mate series flagships, likely landing as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/Huawei-Mate-90-tipped-to-debut-with-up-to-date-battery-specs.1113872.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mate 90 Pro<\/a> given the six rear cameras and the hefty 6,615 mAh battery listed in the specs sheet.&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Since U.S. sanctions in 2019 locked Huawei out of 5G chip production for years, the Mate 40 was the last Huawei flagship with full-fledged 5G support. Everything after that, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/Huawei-Mate-50-Pro-impresses-with-great-camera-but-does-not-have-5G.669780.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mate 50<\/a> and P60, shipped without it. In 2023, Huawei tried to wiggle around the 5G chip ban by dropping the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/Advanced-Huawei-Mate-60-Pro-rattles-U-S-Govt-forcing-it-to-tighten-sanctions-on-Chinese-chipmaker.805615.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Mate 60<\/a> series with homebrew Kirin silicon that was said to be 5G-capable in all but a name. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/These-Huawei-devices-are-getting-HarmonyOS-6.1146842.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">HarmonyOS<\/a> update earlier in the year confirmed this suspicion as it rolled out &#8220;5A&#8221; connectivity. That is Huawei&#8217;s own branding for what is described as faster access, higher throughput, lower latency, and steadier connections.&#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Huawei has already been shipping 5G phones outside China this year, though, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/Huawei-Pura-90s-Pro-launches-with-variable-aperture-Pura-90s-Pro-Max-with-LOFIC-and-200-MP-tele-camera.1342448.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Pura 90s Pro<\/a> in July and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/Huawei-unveils-Nova-16s-Pro-with-200-MP-camera-and-7-000-mAh-battery-in-colorful-body.1386519.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Nova 16s<\/a> series that just landed with declarative 5G connectivity. Back in May, Huawei\u2019s semiconductor chief He Tingbo resurfaced after being publicly missing since Huawei\u2019s chip and software ban and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/Huawei-announces-1-4-nm-chipmaking-technology-to-compete-with-TSMC.1305174.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">announced<\/a> something called the &#8220;Tao Law,&#8221; styled after Moore\u2019s Law of semiconductor development. This marked the first time a Chinese company has proposed its own scaling principle for the global chipmaking industry, and the Mate 90&#8217;s new Kirin silicon is expected to be the first SoC built around it. &#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">The numbers attached to the Tao Law announcement roadmap are specific enough, indicating that the 2026 Kirin chipset targets a 3.1 GHz peak P-core clock, which is a steady jump over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.notebookcheck.net\/HiSilicon-Kirin-9030-Processor-Benchmarks-and-Specs.1355627.0.html\" target=\"_self\" class=\"internal-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Kirin 9030 Pro<\/a>&#8216;s 2.75 GHz. If Huawei&#8217;s own projections hold, by 2031 the roadmap calls for transistor density north of 400 million transistors per square millimeter and clock speeds hitting 5.0 GHz.   &#13;<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Paired with the grand return of official 5G connectivity in the Mate 90, the new Kirin chipset could complete Huawei\u2019s comeback as a mobile chipset powerhouse with its own mobile OS across all markets.
