The Vault Gallery in Newnan is presenting \u201cWild Alterations: Views of the Natural World,\u201d a group exhibition featuring artists\u2019 interpretations of plants, animals and the natural environment.<\/p>\n
The exhibition runs through Sept. 30 at the gallery, located inside the Charles Wadsworth Auditorium at 25 Jefferson St.<\/p>\n
An opening reception will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18. Artist Amie Esslinger will give a gallery talk at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n
The exhibition features work by David Boyd Jr., Philip Carpenter, Dave Collins, Erin Dixon, Rae Duncan, Jenni Horne, Tim Hunter, Ryan Lamfers, Casey McGuire, John Morris and Eve Graybeal Olsen.<\/p>\n
Organizers said the show explores how artists reinterpret the natural world through subtle changes, unexpected perspectives and more pronounced distortions.<\/p>\n
Esslinger will also present an installation in the gallery\u2019s Escape Device Project Space, located inside the building\u2019s historic bank vault.<\/p>\n
The project space was created to feature site-specific artwork designed around the unusual setting of the former vault.<\/p>\n
The Vault Gallery presents exhibitions from fall through spring through a collaboration involving the City of Newnan, the Newnan Artist-in-Residence Program, the University of West Georgia\u2019s Art Program and UWG Culture Lab, with support from the Hollis and Blackwell charitable trusts.<\/p>\n
