Lidl has issued an urgent recall<\/a> for a number of popular cereal bars sold in supermarkets across Ireland after discovering a labelling error that could pose a health risk to some customers.<\/p>\n The discount supermarket chain is warning that wheat, a common allergen and source of gluten, is not listed in English on the affected packaging – meaning those with wheat allergies or gluten intolerance may unknowingly consume it.<\/p>\n Lidl<\/a> shoppers have also been warned that one of the products being recalled may contain peanuts, which are not listed in English in the ingredients. This could make the cereal bar dangerous for anyone with a peanut allergy or intolerance<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Food Safety Authority of Ireland<\/a> (FSAI) announced on Thursday, September 3, that a recall notice has now been issued for certain batches of Crownfield M\u00fcsli-Riegel bars due to the labelling error.<\/p>\n The food safety watchdog has also issued a “do not eat” alert for affected consumers, saying: The ingredients on the below batches of Crownfield M\u00fcsli-Riegel bars are not labelled in English.<\/p>\n Lidl Ireland is recalling certain batches of Crownfield M\u00fcsli-Riegel Schoko & Schoko-Banane<\/p>\n “The implicated batch of Crownfield M\u00fcsli-Riegel Schoko contains peanut, milk and cereals containing gluten (wheat, oats and barley).<\/p>\n “The implicated batch of Crownfield M\u00fcsli-Riegel Schoko-Banane contains milk and cereals containing gluten (wheat, oats and barley).<\/p>\n “There may also be an unintentional presence of rye, nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, walnuts, cashew nuts, Brazil nuts, pecan nuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts), soya, sesame, mustard and lupins.<\/p>\n “This may make the batches unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of peanut, milk, cereals containing gluten, nuts, soya, sesame, mustard and\/or lupins, and therefore, these consumers should not eat the implicated batches.<\/p>\n The full list of products being recalled can be found below, along with their batch number and expiry date:<\/p>\n The specific batches of Lidl’s Crownfield Musli Riegel being recalled by Lidl<\/p>\n While safe for the general public, the affected product may cause digestive problems or more severe reactions in individuals with coeliac disease, gluten intolerance or wheat allergies.<\/p>\n For those with peanut allergies or intolerances, even small amounts can trigger serious reactions<\/a>, ranging from mild discomfort to potentially life-threatening symptoms.<\/p>\n In Ireland, peanut is one of the most common food allergies in childhood and it persists in 80% of cases.<\/p>\n![](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/0_Crownfield-Products.jpg\")
