It has a spherical (read non-flat but slightly domed) sapphire crystal glass, full-width lug design, a rotating crown, a quick button, and an upgraded X-Tap sensor.

The first thing you notice is the spherical sapphire glass. It’s similar to a fisheye lens – it slightly protrudes outward from the watch’s case and is a smooth glass dome. It’s very classy-looking, and it’s also fun, as you can catch a wide-angle reflection of the world (or your head) in it.

The spherical dome is also addictive to touch and slide your finger on.

Below the glass is a choice of metal – the smaller 43mm model gets aluminum, while the 46mm in this article is stainless steel. The Blue model we’ve got is silver with a mix of a brushed finish and polished chamfers. The model comes with a blue fluoroelastomer strap with embedded lines that go through.

There’s also a Black model with a black strap. Its casing is also dark grey.

The spheric sapphire glass

On the right side of the watch is Huawei’s X-Tap sensor. It’s seen a big upgrade in this generation – Huawei claims that it’s upped its sensitivity by 100%.

The X-Tap sensor adds support for hypertension, diabetes, and coronary heart disease risk studies, bringing the total of its health metrics to 14.

Huawei claims the same 4.5 days of typical usage and 3 days with the always-on display enabled. Charging is the same at up to 20W.

Huawei Watch 6 starts at £400.
