But they are still in the queue.

“It can take staff time to find out that the person is no longer there, which makes queues longer and longer.

“They need something in place to identify when someone’s not there.

“They desperately need this app because it does that.”

The app, designed by his son Kamran Akram, sends automated text updates to patients and prompts them to confirm whether they still wish to remain in the queue.

Mr Akram said: “It reduces the anxiety of waiting for your name to be called out.

“It feels better if you know you’re going to be seen by a certain time.”

He offered to install the system for free in return for a monthly monitoring fee, but said the proposal was rejected.

Although the trust declined to comment, it is understood that NHS organisations are bound by the Procurement Act 2023, which sets strict rules on how contracts can be awarded.

Mr Akram said: “We have something that is ready to go and we offered it as a trial.

“I’ve asked people in A&E and 100 per cent of them said it would be workable.

“It would help the A&E and would help the community.”

The CQC inspection took place in September 2025, and the trust said it had since implemented an action plan and invested in additional A&E staffing.

The department was designed to see 200 patients a day but now sees nearly three times that number, according to the trust.

The trust said Bradford’s A&E performance remained better than the national average, while acknowledging that patients’ experiences did not always meet expected standards.

Calverley businessman Aqiq Akram, who works for Kaiz Group Ltd, created the app after waiting nearly 24 hours…

[257
18,19,17,279,82
post-675939","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-mobile","tag-eire","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-mobile","tag-technology
["GET
