Days into September, British claymation studio Aardman<\/a> announced it\u2019s teaming with PropStore to put old puppets up for sale<\/a>.<\/p>\n

No, the company\u2019s not shutting down\u2014it\u2019s donig this to celebrate its upcoming 50th birthday. As such, nearly 250 items<\/a> from almost all of its productions are for grabs. From classics like\u00a0Wallace & Gromit: The Wrong Trousers<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0A Close Shave\u00a0to the more recent\u00a0Robin Robin\u00a0and\u00a0Chicken Run 2,\u00a0and the upcoming\u00a0Shawn the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom,\u00a0there\u2019s a breadth of boards, signed postes, and props to put down money on. (For those wondering, neither the\u00a0Over the Garden Wall\u00a0claymation special or\u00a02027\u2019s claymation Pok\u00e9mon Tales<\/a> series are represented amongst the collection.)<\/p>\n

For the older Aardman fans, there\u2019s even\u00a0Morph, the 1977 series that marked the studio\u2019s first-ever production. Those who remember it or its various followups can put down money on items from those, including original clay stop-motion puppets of the titular character and his best friend Chas.<\/p>\n

Aardman\u2019s attractions director Ngaio Harding-Hill assured auction\u2019s been \u201ccarefully curated by the studio\u2019s creative talent and includes contributions\u2026produced in celebration of this unique moment to connect with our fans.\u201d Proceeds will go toward internal talent development initiatives, including skill development programs and avenues for future filmmakers that\u2019ll \u201chelp to broaden access to careers in animation and nurture the next generation of creative talent.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Aardman auction will go live with global online, telephone, and absentee options on September 24. Until then, there\u2019s nothing to do but look what the studio is selling.<\/p>\n
