social media, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office<\/a> called it “a true deer-in-the-headlights moment” and a “buck-wild call for service.”<\/p>\n“Oh, that’s a buck. That’s a nice buck,” a deputy is heard saying in the video upon first seeing the deer.<\/p>\n
In the video, the deputy and the resident of the home can be seen strategizing on how to get the animal out of the home. They come up with a plan to move furniture around to create a sort of path. <\/p>\n
The deer didn’t take the hint at first, so the deputy went outside and retrieved an extendable swimming pool brush, which he used to gently nudge the animal and coax it out of the bathroom. <\/p>\n
The buck, appearing nervous and with its legs a little shaky, made its way out a sliding glass door. <\/p>\n
But the wildlife call wasn’t over yet.<\/p>\n
That’s because the deer wandered onto the patio, and instead of running away, it leapt into an in-ground swimming pool. After a brief dip, the deer made it out of the pool but then ran into a part of the yard where it couldn’t escape. <\/p>\n
It’s then seen turning around and once again jumping back into the pool. After a moment, the deer makes its way out of the pool, runs into another part of the yard, jumps a fence, and makes its way into a wooded area.<\/p>\n
“First time I’ve had a deer in a house in 23 years of my profession,” the deputy is heard saying with a laugh after the deer scurried off.<\/p>\n
Bringing some levity to the post, the sheriff’s office wrote, “The buck fled before deputies could issue a warning for trespassing.”<\/p>\n
