Next season of ABC\u2019s late-night show \u201cJimmy Kimmel Live!\u201d will be the last<\/a>, Page Six is told.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis contract is not getting extended,\u201d a source familiar with the situation explained.<\/p>\n

The season begins Tuesday and would wrap up, after 24 years on the air, in May 2027.<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for ABC Entertainment told us, \u201c[This] information is inaccurate \u2014 any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmel takes pride in signing year-to-year deals, which are rare in the TV biz and allow him unusual flexibility.<\/p>\n

The news comes on the heels of Rosie O\u2019Donnell completing a four-night guest-hosting run<\/a> on his show that was a ratings success.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Donnell was \u201cin her element,\u201d a source told us. So much so that she went viral for mocking her longtime nemesis, President Trump<\/a>, by performing a parody of the traditional Irish song \u201cDanny Boy\u201d that she called \u201cDonnie Boy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kimmel has been fronting the show since 2003, making him one of the longest-running network late-night hosts.<\/p>\n

Insiders say the move is unlikely to be related to Kimmel\u2019s antagonistic relationship with the Trump administration<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Kimmel was embroiled in a nasty feud with Trump earlier this year after he quipped that first lady Melania Trump \u201chad a glow like an expectant widow<\/a>,\u201d days before a third assassination attempt on the president. <\/p>\n

An infuriated Trump immediately called for ABC to fire him. He also criticized the late-night host for his remarks about Charlie Kirk\u2019s assassination in September 2025, which subsequently found him temporarily yanked off the air under Disney CEO Bob Iger.<\/p>\n

But our sources say new Disney boss Josh D\u2019Amaro wouldn\u2019t be swayed by politics.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s not afraid of the administration \u2026 Josh isn\u2019t folding,\u201d the TV insider said.<\/p>\n

D\u2019Amaro has reportedly been offering veteran execs early retirement packages as part of restructuring and cost-cutting across the company.<\/p>\n

Cost reductions may have played a factor in their decision to part ways with Kimmel because, as one ABC source said, \u201cit wouldn\u2019t have anything to do with Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coincidentally, ABC and Disney sued the Federal Communications Commission the day after O\u2019Donnell\u2019s \u201cKimmel\u201d debut, accusing it of attacking its free speech by requesting to review ABC\u2019s broadcasting licenses earlier than usual.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a tumultuous time in late-night television.
