The new road will span around 7km between Croagh and Adare, greatly speeding up traffic flow in a congested part of the county’s road network.

The bypass will remove traffic snarls on the N21 and divert any unnecessary through traffic, including HGVs, away from nearby villages, making them safer for pedestrians.

In the latest video update, you can see crews hard at work along a vast stretch of the new bypass, carrying out preparatory groundworks, laying down tarmac, and installing new bridges.

While it’s easy to drive past projects like these without giving them much thought, these videos show the immense amount of work that goes into them and how much truly needs to be done to bring a new bypass from the planning stage into reality.

You can watch the latest video update below:

This latest update follows the installation of a new bridge over the summer, which was one of the project’s key milestones. The installation required the use of the largest crane available across the UK and Ireland, and another video shared in recent weeks showed it in action.

Ireland’s largest crane working on the bypass(Image: Sisk)

The crane was used to lift bridge supports into place, which consisted of nine pairs of metal girders, the heaviest of which weighed over 400 tonnes.

It was a careful operation where a lot could have gone wrong, but the workers weren’t fazed, and each section of the bridge was methodically lifted into place over the course of two weeks.

You can read more about the project and watch the impressive crane in action here

[73
79,18,19,17,5599
post-679810","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-business","tag-business","tag-eire","tag-ie","tag-ireland","tag-munster
["GET
