As he descends into an iridescent doomsday bunker, with guns prominently displayed in cases, the mood gets darker. Garfield (as Altman) says, \u201cCountries will fall. Industries are gonna collapse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd we get to be the ones to shepherd people into this new world,\u201d his narration goes. \u201cI\u2019m so excited to see it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At a time when the artificial intelligence race is ramping up, so too are insiders\u2019 worries that the tech could destroy humanity. Those fears are increasingly being played out in the public sphere. On Tuesday, Anthropic\u2019s lead AI alignment researcher <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EvanHub\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\">posted on X<\/a> that the company\u2019s team \u201cearnestly\u201d believes AI will kill all humans, responding to a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/hilbertspaess\/status\/2097476196791709843\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow\">viral post from a staffer<\/a> who quit over his own concerns the company wasn\u2019t taking that risk seriously.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s upcoming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/movies\/movie-news\/musk-artificial-social-reckoning-holmes-documentary-1236693959\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">tech motion pictures<\/a>\u00a0are reflecting that sentiment of existential risk by angling toward the industry\u2019s destructive contributions to society. Fielder\u2019s A24 documentary on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/sf-culture\/article\/elizabeth-homes-doc-trailer-shocks-audiences-22420840.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Holmes<\/a>, called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GGJSRFWALTI\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">You Can See Everything,<\/a>\u201d chronicles the former Theranos founder\u2019s final days before an 11-year prison sentence. \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=gM4LkaXwGuY\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Social Reckoning<\/a>,\u201d a sequel to 2010\u2019s \u201cThe Social Network,\u201d which chronicled Mark\u00a0Zuckerberg\u2019s Facebook come-up and burning of his friend and co-founder Eduardo Saverin (also played by Garfield), is a darker portrayal of the company. While the first movie largely circled around a young Zuckerberg\u2019s awkwardness and early CEO snafus, this one depicts the story behind the Wall Street Journal\u2019s 2021 investigative series \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/the-facebook-files-11631713039\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Facebook Files<\/a>,\u201d which revealed, among many controversies, that the company was aware its products harmed children and did little to prevent it.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The reactions from the tech execs being portrayed onscreen have varied. Zuckerberg hasn\u2019t shied away from critiquing the 2010 film\u2019s accuracy, and he has publicly noted that the only thing the movie seemed to accurately portray <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2025\/11\/07\/mark-zuckerberg-the-social-network-nailed-my-wardrobe-every-shirt-fleece-costume-design-jacqueline-west\/\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">was his style<\/a>, or lack thereof. His response to the new film may not be as lighthearted, given the company just settled a lawsuit for a historic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sfgate.com\/business\/article\/meta-reaches-17-billion-settlement-with-states-22404277.php\" data-link=\"native\" class=\"\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">$18 billion<\/a> over the same claims that appear to be at the heart of the new movie.<\/p>\n<p>Altman hasn\u2019t publicly commented on the \u201cArtificial\u201d teaser, though his brother already has notes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLook, you all know I\u2019d love nothing more than a feature length film making fun of my brother,\u201d Jack Altman said in a post on X. \u201cUnfortunately based on the preview it looks like the only thing they got right is the walk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Work at OpenAI and want to talk?
