Police confirmed the names of two people who died in separate road crashes on Monday, one a 21-year-old man, the other a woman in her late 70s.<\/p>\n

Ryan Cunnigham, 21 and from Kilkeel, Co Down<\/a>, died at the scene of the collision between two cars<\/a> on the Ballydugan Road in Downpatrick.<\/p>\n

Joyce Crooks (78), died following a head on collision between two cars near Dungannon, Co Tyrone.<\/p>\n

Mr Cunningham was the driver of a silver VW Bora that collided with a Toyota Avensis around 2pm on Monday afternoon. A male passenger, also in his 20s remains in hospital after suffering serious injuries.<\/p>\n

Two women travelling in the other car involved in the collision also required hospital treatment.<\/p>\n

Inspector Cherith Adair, of the PSNI\u2019s Collision Investigation Unit, said: \u201cAn investigation to establish the circumstances of what happened is ongoing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tributes were paid following Mr Cunningham\u2019s passing, with friends describing him as a \u201ctrue gentleman\u201d and a \u201cgreat lad…gone so soon\u201d. <\/p>\n

Ms Crooks, from the Cookstown area, died in hospital following the head-on collision between two cars on the Cookstown Road.<\/p>\n

Five people were taken to hospital following the collision, which happened around 7pm on Monday. <\/p>\n

Inspector Adair said: \u201cAt around 7pm, we received a report regarding a two-vehicle head-on collision in the Cookstown Road area.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur officers attended with other emergency partners and provided medical assistance.
