{"id":6849,"date":"2025-08-18T10:18:08","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T10:18:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/6849\/"},"modified":"2025-08-18T10:18:08","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T10:18:08","slug":"an-unimaginable-loss-dad-of-two-who-lived-in-limerick-dies-in-road-traffic-collision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/6849\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;An unimaginable loss&#8217;: Dad-of-two who lived in Limerick dies in road traffic collision"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A FATHER-OF-TWO who died in a collision involving a truck and a motorcycle has been remembered as an \u201camazing young man\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Sean Connolly, aged in his 40s, of Ballinlina, Reens, Ardagh, County <a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/limerickleader.ie\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Limerick<\/a> and formerly of Kingside, Cloonmull, Drumcliff, County Sligo was riding a motorbike at the time of the collision on Friday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ MORE:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.limerickleader.ie\/news\/weather\/1872765\/lightning-damage-fear-in-limerick-as-thunderstorm-warning-issued.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Lightning damage fear in Limerick as thunderstorm warning issued<\/a><\/p>\n<p>He was pronounced deceased at the scene on the N69 on the Listowel side of Tarbert village, Tieraclea, County Kerry on Friday morning at around 10am.<\/p>\n<p>Tributes have poured in for Mr Connolly and many condolences expressed to his bereaved loved ones on rip.ie<\/p>\n<p>The employee of Carrons Haulage, Ardagh, was held in the highest regard and described as &#8220;an amazing young man&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSean was a genius at his profession but more so he was one sound gentleman. It was a pleasure to know Sean and he will be sadly missed but remembered highly,\u201d said one grieving person.<\/p>\n<p>A mourner said: \u201cI am privileged to have known Sean, a true and genuine friend. Rest in peace Sean, you will be sadly missed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Another person who is keenly feeling his loss wrote: \u201cHis kindness, his laughter, and the way he always knew how to make me smile are gifts I\u2019ll carry with me forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sean\u2019s death is described as an \u201cunimaginable loss\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He is deeply regretted by his loving children Caoimhe and Brendan and their mother Kate (Fitzgerald), his heartbroken parents Deirdre (O\u2019Kelly) and Brendan, brothers David and Peter, sister-in-law Suzanne and Sorcha, niece Cro\u00eda, uncles Derrick (Connolly), Joe, Sean, Noel, Mike, Francis and the late Kevin and Kieran (O\u2019Kelly), aunts Marian Delaney, Irene Dunne, Anne Power, Maura Griffin, Ann Cambridge, Brid Russell and Niamh O\u2019Regan, uncles-in-law, aunts-in-law, cousins, relatives, extended family, the Fitzgerald family (Shanagolden), neighbours and many friends.<\/p>\n<p>Sean\u2019s funeral arrangements have been announced. Reposing at O\u2019Grady\u2019s Funeral Home, Ballingarry, County Limerick this Tuesday evening, August 19, from 4pm to 7pm.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Arriving on Wednesday at The Church Of The Immaculate Conception, Ballingarry for 11am Requiem Mass.
