The Puerto Rican superstar leads the <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/latin-grammy-awards\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2025 Latin Grammy<\/a> nominations this year.<\/p>\n<p>His 12 nominations mean that he\u2019s dethroned <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/edgar-barrera-latin-grammys-2023-75d5aeba30e60632b466fa5adff06711\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">producer and songwriter \u00c9dgar Barrera<\/a> \u2014 known for his work with Bad Bunny as well as Madonna, Karol G, Peso Pluma, <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/shakira\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Shakira<\/a>, Grupo Frontera and beyond \u2014 who previously topped the list <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/latin-grammys-nominations-2024-73f471d6d68bc2d5c759196cf54abe64\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">in 2023 and 2024<\/a> with 13 and 9 nominations, respectively. Don\u2019t cry for him, though: Barrera is tied with Argentinian hip-hop duo CA7RIEL &amp; Paco Amoroso for the second most nominations. They have 10 each.<\/p>\n<p>The Latin Recording Academy announced this year\u2019s nominees in a livestream Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Bad Bunny is nominated for album of the year and urban music album of the year for his groundbreaking <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/bad-bunny-debi-tirar-mas-fotos-review-856f8e4f89e48e6ab104a491ae3dbcde\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">2025 full-length, \u201cDeb\u00ed Tirar M\u00e1s Fotos.\u201d<\/a> He\u2019s also up for urban\/urban fusion performance, reggaeton performance, roots song and short form music video. He is nominated twice in the record and song of the year categories for \u201cDTmF\u201d and \u201cBaile Inolvidable.\u201d He\u2019s also nominated twice in the best urban song category, for \u201cLa Mudanza\u201d and \u201cDTmF.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to Bad Bunny, CA7RIEL &amp; Paco Amoroso are also nominated in the album of the year category, which is rounded out by Rauw Alejandro, Gloria Estefan, Vicente Garc\u00eda, Joaquina, Natalia Lafourcade, Car\u00edn Le\u00f3n, Liniker, Elena Rose and Alejandro Sanz.<\/p>\n<p>Both Bad Bunny and CA7RIEL &amp; Paco Amoroso are nominated twice in the record of the year category, which also features artists Lafourcade, Sanz, Jorge Drexler &amp; Conociendo Rusia, Zoe Gotusso, Karol G and Liniker.<\/p>\n<p>The best new artist category nominees are Alleh, Annasofia, Yerai Cort\u00e9s, Juliane Gamboa, Camila Guevara, Isadora, Alex Luna, Paloma Morphy, Sued Nunes and Ruzzi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe impact of Latin music continues to grow on a global level, and all of the nominated artists encompass its diversity and richness while continuing to preserve the iconic sounds that make our music unique,\u201d Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, wrote in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>The 26th Annual <a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/hub\/music\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Latin Grammy Awards<\/a> will take place Nov. 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>There is a new field in 2025, for visual media, and two new categories: music for visual media and roots song.<\/p>\n<p>The Latin Grammys will broadcast live on TelevisaUnivision\u2019s U.S. platforms beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern.
