The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a behind-the-scenes montage of the key moments of Donald Trump’s state visit to the UK from Windsor Castle – including a touching moment<\/p>\n

The Prince and Princess of Wales<\/a> shared a secret, loved-up moment at the US state banquet, behind-the-scenes footage has shown.<\/p>\n

William and Kate played a huge role in hosting US President Donald Trump<\/a> and his wife Melania at Windsor Castle yesterday, greeting them as they landed.<\/a><\/p>\n

They also held a private meeting with the US leader and First Lady, and Kate sat next to the president in a glittering gold dress at last night’s glitzy state banquet in St George’s Hall. After the festivities were over, the Waleses took to social media to post a glossy video of yesterday’s events.<\/p>\n

And in a sweet moment, William and Kate were seen holding hands as they made their way to the banquet after posing for a photo, which was also posted to their social accounts.<\/p>\n

It came after the Princess of Wales<\/a> was hailed as “so radiant and so healthy and so beautiful” by Trump during his state banquet speech.<\/p>\n

Kate wore a couture creation by British designer Phillipa Lepley, with a striking full-length, champagne gold hand-embroidered Chantilly lace evening coat featuring a regal-looking high collar over a silk crepe gown.<\/p>\n

Mr Trump made a point of referencing the princess, who announced at the start of the year that she was in remission from cancer, in his banquet speech, describing her as “so radiant and so healthy and so beautiful”. The princess was sat next to the American leader at the banquet table and was seen smiling up at him as he delivered his speech.<\/p>\n

Mr Trump also praised the Prince of Wales, saying: “His Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Really amazing. We\u2019ve gotten to know you and I think you\u2019re going to have an unbelievable success in future.”<\/p>\n

He added: “Melania and I are delighted to visit again with Prince William<\/a> and to see Her Royal Highness, Princess Catherine, so radiant and so healthy, and so beautiful. It\u2019s really a great honour, thank you.”<\/p>\n

Kate beamed as she stood and raised her glass to toast the president after he addressed the 160 guests in St George’s Hall. Before the state dinner, Kate and William posed for a photo taken by one of their favoured photographers Matt Porteous.<\/p>\n

The pair were shown standing side by side in their banquet finery, with the portrait posted on Kensington Palace’s social media, with the words “Ready for The State Banquet” followed by American and UK flag motifs.<\/p>\n

Kate’s delicate coat featured hand-embroidered roses with couched gold cording, accented with French knots and satin-stitched blooms, demonstrating her commitment to supporting British craftsmanship and creativity.<\/p>\n

Her earrings belonged to the late Queen and the princess opted for her go-to tiara the Lover\u2019s Knot Tiara and wore her hair down and styled in waves.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, Mr Trump appeared to tell future queen, Kate, \u201cYou\u2019re so beautiful, so beautiful\u201d as she greeted him and the First Lady Melania Trump<\/a> at Victoria House with the Prince of Wales at the start of the historic state visit.<\/p>\n
