Rock legends Queen<\/strong><\/a> are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their monumental multi-platinum 1975 album A Night At The Opera and legendary diamond-certified single \u201cBohemian Rhapsody\u201d with vinyl reissues.<\/p>\n

Originally released in November 1975 and featuring the classic lineup of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon, A Night At The Opera was Queen\u2019s grandest artistic statement and most successful album to that point, reaching No.1 in five countries, including the UK.<\/p>\n

Marking 50 years since its original release, A Night At The Opera will be reissued on crystal clear vinyl with gold labels on October 18 in the UK (as part of National Album Day) and October 17 in the rest of the world.<\/p>\n

\u201cBohemian Rhapsody,\u201d which spent a record-breaking nine weeks at No.1 in the UK singles chart on its original release, is also being reissued on October 31 as a transparent, blue heavyweight 7\u201d vinyl and transparent, blue heavyweight 12\u201d vinyl. It will also be available as an exclusive 12\u201d picture disc and blue cassette single.<\/p>\n

\u201cA Night At The Opera was a hugely important album for us,\u201d says Queen guitarist Sir Brian May. \u201cIt opened up the world for us.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were at the peak of our confidence,\u201d adds drummer Roger Taylor, \u201cIt felt like there wasn\u2019t anything we couldn\u2019t do, and it shows on that album.\u201d<\/p>\n

The year 1975 was a pivotal one for Queen. A Night At The Opera and \u201cBohemian Rhapsody\u201d propelled them to new commercial and artistic heights, sealing their status as one of the most visionary bands Britain has ever produced.<\/p>\n

Artists as diverse as the Foo Fighters and The Beach Boys\u2019 Brian Wilson have saluted their multi-faceted brilliance, with the latter describing \u201cBohemian Rhapsody\u201d as \u201ca fulfilment and an answer to a teenage prayer of artistic music.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adds Taylor about the single: \u201cI always believed in \u2018Bohemian Rhapsody\u2019 from the start. The first time Fred played us his idea for it, I remember thinking, \u2018Oh, this is something special.\u2019 And it was.\u201d<\/p>\n
