{"id":73296,"date":"2025-09-19T11:24:11","date_gmt":"2025-09-19T11:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/73296\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T11:24:11","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T11:24:11","slug":"sculptures-emerge-from-mies-van-der-rohes-barcelona-pavilion-pond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/73296\/","title":{"rendered":"sculptures emerge from mies van der rohe&#8217;s barcelona pavilion pond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>mies van der rohe\u2019s barcelona pavilion hosts \u2018lost limits\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Until October 5th, 2025, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designboom.com\/tag\/mies-van-der-rohe\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Mies van der Rohe<\/strong><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designboom.com\/tag\/barcelona-pavilion-mies-van-der-rohe\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Pavilion<\/strong><\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designboom.com\/tag\/architecture-in-barcelona\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Barcelona<\/strong><\/a> becomes the stage for Lost Limits, an artistic intervention by artists Anne Glassner and Marit Wolters that brings together <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designboom.com\/tag\/sculpture\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>sculpture<\/strong><\/a>, performance, and architecture to question where private life ends and public presence begins.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Wolters\u2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.designboom.com\/tag\/concrete-architecture-and-design\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>concrete<\/strong><\/a> sculptures are cast using water drawn from the Pavilion\u2019s pond, and, installed within the same pool, they mirror the surrounding<a href=\"https:\/\/www.designboom.com\/tag\/marble-and-stone-design\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong> travertine<\/strong><\/a> surfaces. On September 18th, 2025, she and <a href=\"http:\/\/maritwolters.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>German sculptor<\/strong> <\/a>Marit Wolters wear camouflage clothing that blends them into the <a href=\"https:\/\/miesbcn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><strong>Pavilion\u2019s<\/strong><\/a> geometry while enacting everyday gestures, like sitting, drinking, eating, lying down, and looking. These mundane acts, displaced from their domestic sphere into a public architectural icon, make the familiar become estranged.
