There has been a major evacuation at Dublin Airport after a suspicious item was found in security scanners at Terminal 2.<\/p>\n
The Army bomb squad is on the way, and officers from the anti-terrorist Special Detective Unit are responding as standard procedure in such incidents.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed say they have identified the owner of the suspect bag and inquiries are ongoing. Detectives from the SDU are taking charge of the investigation.<\/p>\n
Garda HQ said an ongoing incident at the airport began shortly before noon.<\/p>\n
A spokesperson said: \u201cGarda\u00ed are currently at the scene of an incident at Dublin Airport.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs this is an ongoing operation, no further information is available at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Videos and photographs show large crowds of passengers leaving the terminal and gathering outside, as traffic builds around the airport.<\/p>\n
