{"id":75712,"date":"2025-09-20T18:43:26","date_gmt":"2025-09-20T18:43:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/75712\/"},"modified":"2025-09-20T18:43:26","modified_gmt":"2025-09-20T18:43:26","slug":"american-legends-three-dog-night-to-rock-buncrana-next-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/75712\/","title":{"rendered":"American legends \u2018Three Dog Night\u2019 to rock Buncrana next month!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Donegal County Council has confirmed legendary American rock band \u2018Three Dog Night\u2019 will perform in Buncrana next month as part of the Tip O\u2019Neill awards.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Famous for the 1970s classic Mama Told Me (Not To Come), among others, their only other Irish performances will be in Dublin and Belfast.<\/p>\n<p>This landmark concert, in Buncrana cinema on October 16th, coincides with the presentation of the Tip O\u2019Neill Irish Diaspora Award to Danny Hutton, founding member and lead vocalist of the band, who hails from Buncrana. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-608044\" class=\"wp-image-608044 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Danny-Hutton-Three-Dog-Night.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"525\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-608044\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Buncrana native, Danny Hutton, founding member of Three Dog Night.<\/p>\n<p>The awards ceremony is scheduled for the following night, Friday, 17 October, at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Buncrana\u2019s selection in 2024 as one of the Government\u2019s Night-Time Economy Pilot Towns highlights this town\u2019s commitment to creating vibrant, inclusive, and culturally rich after-dark experiences. This series of performances perfectly exemplifies the vision of that initiative\u2014bringing music, community pride, and economic vitality to the heart of Buncrana, a council spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p>Cathaoirleach of Donegal County Council, Cllr.\u202fPaul Canning, said Danny Hutton\u2019s return with Three Dog Night is an extraordinary moment of pride for Buncrana and for Donegal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is not only a celebration of his international achievements, but also a perfect example of how our Night\u2011Time Economy Initiative can bring life, culture, and music into the heart of our community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHosting a band of this stature in Buncrana demonstrates the ambition we have for our town centre after dark, and it will leave a lasting legacy of confidence in what Buncrana can achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sophie Gallagher, Buncrana\u2019s Night\u2011Time Economy Advisor, added: \u201cThis event captures exactly what the Night\u2011Time Economy Pilot is about: creating memorable, inclusive experiences that make people excited to come into town after dark.
