{"id":7710,"date":"2025-08-18T18:54:11","date_gmt":"2025-08-18T18:54:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/7710\/"},"modified":"2025-08-18T18:54:11","modified_gmt":"2025-08-18T18:54:11","slug":"worlds-largest-pin-and-thread-art-pays-beautiful-tribute-to-mahatma-gandhi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/7710\/","title":{"rendered":"World&#8217;s largest pin and thread art pays beautiful tribute to Mahatma Gandhi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>An Indian artist paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi by creating this beautiful \u2013 and gigantic \u2013 pin and thread art.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s actually the <strong>largest pin and thread art<\/strong> in the world, at a staggering 23.67 m\u00b2 (254 ft\u00b2).<\/p>\n<p>To help you picture the scale, that\u2019s about the size of one-and-a-half parking spaces.<\/p>\n<p>It was created by Sreekanth Sukumaran after a little encouragement from his loved ones to attempt a world record.<\/p>\n<p>He created the stunning artwork in November 2024, with a crowd watching on as the image of the beloved Indian figure came together one thread at a time.<\/p>\n<p>Sreekanth has been a skilled artist since his school days, and his precision and passion is clear in this video footage.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/pin-and-thread-art-beginning-stages.jpg\" alt=\"pin and thread art at the beginning stages\" width=\"684\" height=\"450\"\/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s quite mesmerizing to watch the image appear via nothing but threads wrapped around pins and carefully overlapped with one another.<\/p>\n<p>It took Sreekanth nine continuous hours of work to complete his artwork.<\/p>\n<p>There are other residents of India who also have records relating to the famous lawyer \u2013 real name Mohandas Gandhi \u2013 who lived from 1869 to 1948.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/pin-and-thread-art-image-starting-to-appear.jpg\" alt=\"the image starting to appear\" width=\"684\" height=\"450\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Gandhi is revered as the \u201cFather of the Nation\u201d in India, and the country even celebrates his birthday as a national holiday.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018, Ghulam Nabi Azad and Rajender Reddy Gunna (both India) organized the <strong>largest gathering of people dressed as Mohandas Gandhi<\/strong> in Nalgonda, Telangana.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/pin-and-thread-art-people-posing-with-art.jpg\" alt=\"people posing with the art\" width=\"684\" height=\"450\"\/><\/p>\n<p>They broke the record with a total of 4,772 people in costume.<\/p>\n<p>Rajeshkumar Thakkar (India) is the proud owner of the <strong>largest collection of stamps featuring Mohandas Gandhi<\/strong>.
