Traitors Ireland contestant Joanna Masiarek said she branded her fellow players \u201cmean girls\u201d in the heat of the moment and has since been heartbroken at the backlash against them on social media. <\/p>\n
She was eliminated at the end of a divisive \u201cround table\u201d segment on the RT\u00c9<\/a> reality television gameshow on Sunday \u2013 at the end of which she accused the other woman contestants of banding together against her, describing them as \u201cmean girls\u201d. <\/p>\n The scene has provoked a strong online reaction: some feel Ms Masiarek should have been more open with the show\u2019s other \u201cfaithfuls\u201d while others believe she was unfairly singled out. <\/p>\n Much of the criticism has descended into online abuse. <\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019d like everybody to remember we were in a TV show. But there are real people with real feelings. I wouldn\u2019t like this comment to hurt everybody. I\u2019m devastated seeing all the comments online today. I\u2019m heartbroken because I didn\u2019t think that something I felt at the moment would have such an impact,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t imagine how all the girls are feeling. I\u2019m getting so many messages and horrible comments. <\/p>\n \u201cI can\u2019t even imagine what they are going through. As each episode passes, contestants are eliminated until one, or more, is left as the winner of a cash jackpot. <\/p>\n There is no bad blood between Ms Masiarek and the other players, and she is looking forward to reuniting with them before Tuesday night\u2019s series finale. <\/p>\n \u201cSome of the comments I\u2019ve seen, they\u2019re really shocking. I do consider myself lucky not being on the receiving end. But as someone that\u2019s empathetic, to see my friends going through that \u2013 it\u2019s really forceful,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
