Pixies<\/a> have announced a 40th anniversary UK and European tour for 2026. Find all the details below.<\/p>\n

The Boston band, who formed in 1986, are due to hit the road next year for a global run of live dates. Today (September 23), they\u2019ve shared details about the first leg of the trek.<\/p>\n

Kicking off in York on May 20, the forthcoming UK and European tour also includes shows in Dunfermline, Manchester, Limerick, Dublin, Berlin, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Milan, Rotterdam, Enschede and Heerlen.<\/p>\n

Pixies\u2019 return to these shores will also see them play a headline concert at the historic Royal Albert Hall in London on Thursday May 28. This will mark the group\u2019s first performance at the venue.<\/p>\n

Pixies released their ninth and latest studio album, \u2018The Night The Zombies Came\u2019<\/a>, last October.<\/p>\n

Speaking to NME around that time<\/a>, the group discussed the possibility of performing more of their classic albums in full on tour after doing so with \u2018<\/a>Trompe le Monde\u2019 and \u2018Bossanova\u2019<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure that\u2019s in our future,\u201d said Joey Santiago. Dave Lovering added: \u201cWhen [2014\u2019s] \u2018Indie Cindy\u2019<\/a>\u00a0becomes 20 years old or something.\u201d<\/p>\n

Santiago went on: \u201cAs a fan, I love those things. We went to \u2018Aja\u2019, the\u00a0Steely Dan<\/a>\u00a0show. It\u2019s incredible knowing that it\u2019s going to be all of \u2018Aja\u2019 and right behind me were all the drummers \u2013 Danny [Carey] from\u00a0Tool, Josh Freese, Pat Wilson were all behind me watching it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just saying Steely Dan\u2019s cool\u2026The only thing about doing it in order is that Charles [aka Black Francis] and I have to switch guitars. So there\u2019s a lot of that going on, so it disrupts the show a little bit. But we like doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Pixies recently opened for My Chemical Romance in Toronto as part of the band\u2019s North American \u2018Long Live The Black Parade\u2019 tour<\/a>.<\/p>\n
