The draw for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup has been made, with 16 teams discovering their opponents for next month\u2019s ties.<\/p>\n
Chelsea and Liverpool booked their places on Tuesday night, with the Reds edging Southampton thanks to a late winner and the Blues coming from behind to beat Lincoln.<\/p>\n
Alexander Isak, making only his third appearance since joining on deadline day, broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time after converting a pass from Federico Chiesa.<\/p>\n
Moments earlier, Adam Armstrong had rattled the crossbar for Southampton, who posed problems for the hosts throughout the contest.<\/p>\n
The visitors drew level 14 minutes from time through Shea Charles, but Hugo Ekitike restored Liverpool\u2019s lead with a close-range finish from another Chiesa assist.<\/p>\n
Ekitike\u2019s joy was short-lived, however, as he was sent off for a second yellow card after removing his shirt in celebration.<\/p>\n
Chelsea and Liverpool are joined by Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City, who all secured comfortable victories against lower-league opposition.<\/p>\n
Crystal Palace, Brentford and Fulham are also through, with the fourth-round fixtures set to take place in the week commencing October 27.<\/p>\n
Newcastle, last season\u2019s winners after defeating Liverpool at Wembley, will continue their title defence in the next stage.<\/p>\n
