{"id":8393,"date":"2025-08-19T02:25:10","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T02:25:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/8393\/"},"modified":"2025-08-19T02:25:10","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T02:25:10","slug":"bbc-postpones-ozzy-osbourne-documentary-with-new-date-yet-to-be-announced-the-irish-times","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/8393\/","title":{"rendered":"BBC postpones Ozzy Osbourne documentary with new date yet to be announced \u2013 The Irish Times"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">The BBC has dropped its Ozzy Osbourne documentary from Monday night\u2019s schedule with a new air date to be announced.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home was due to be shown on BBC One at 9pm, but has now been replaced with an episode of Fake Or Fortune?, with no reason given for the change in schedule.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">\u201cThe film has moved in the schedules and we\u2019ll confirm new TX [transmission] details in due course,\u201d a BBC spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">The hour-long documentary will show the late Black Sabbath frontman reuniting with the band on stage as part of The Back To The Beginning farewell concert in Birmingham on July 5. He died on July 22 at the age of 76 from a reported heart attack.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">The film was originally conceived as a series, announced in 2022 and called Home to Roost, and was to document Osbourne and his wife Sharon\u2019s move back from the US, where they had lived for more than two decades, to rural Buckinghamshire.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">But the project \u201cevolved as Ozzy\u2019s health deteriorated\u201d into the one-hour film, the BBC said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">The BBC says the documentary sees the story of the concert told through \u201cunique and intimate access to the whole Osbourne family\u201d, including Mrs Osbourne and their children Kelly and Jack.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">It was filmed over three years and \u201ccaptures the extraordinary rollercoaster of their lives\u201d as the couple \u201cattempt to complete their long-held dream of moving back to the UK\u201d, the BBC has said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home also captures the musician as he \u201cheroically battles to get fit enough to perform\u201d and the family dealing with \u201cthe dramatic consequences of his ill health\u201d, with Kelly saying in the film: \u201cIron Man wasn\u2019t really made of iron.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">The rocker, who grew up in Birmingham, England, had been diagnosed with Parkinson\u2019s disease in 2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">In July fans gathered alongside Osbourne\u2019s family to pay tribute to the star as a funeral cortege travelled through the city.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">Mrs Osbourne and the couple\u2019s children could be seen wiping away tears when they arrived at the Black Sabbath bench in the city centre, where thousands of tributes, balloons and flowers were left.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph  \">Musicians from Bostin Brass played Black Sabbath songs to accompany the cortege and fans threw flowers at the hearse as it passed slowly through the city.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The BBC has dropped its Ozzy Osbourne documentary from Monday night\u2019s schedule with a new air date to&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":8394,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[75],"tags":[3412,8369,18,117,19,17,5204],"class_list":{"0":"post-8393","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-entertainment","8":"tag-bbc","9":"tag-black-sabbath","10":"tag-eire","11":"tag-entertainment","12":"tag-ie","13":"tag-ireland","14":"tag-ozzy-osbourne"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8393","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=8393"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/8393\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/8394"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=8393"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=8393"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=8393"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
