\n\tJimmy Kimmel<\/a> acknowledged the threats made by Donald Trump<\/a> after his late-night show returned on Tuesday night, describing the president as an \u201cEighties movie-style bully.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn the latest episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>!, Kimmel did a line-by-line takedown of Trump\u2019s Truth Social post<\/a>, which suggested he planned to sue ABC<\/a> and accused the comedian of being \u201cyet another arm\u201d of the Democratic Party. \u201cI can\u2019t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back,\u201d Trump wrote in the post.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou can\u2019t believe they gave me my job back?\u201d Kimmel responded. \u201cI can\u2019t believe we gave you your job back.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWhy would they want someone back who does so poorly, who\u2019s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat garbage,\u201d Trump\u2019s post continued. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou hear that?\u201d Kimmel responded. \u201cThere\u2019s the threat again. This time straight from FCC-biscuit\u2019s mouth. He says, \u2018I think we\u2019re going to test ABC out on this. Let\u2019s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 million dollars.\u00a0This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers!\u2019 Only Donald Trump would try to prove he wasn\u2019t threatening ABC by threatening ABC. And you almost have to feel sorry for the people who work for him who try to clean up the messes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tTrump\u2019s post closed with, \u201cLet Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad ratings.\u201d \u201cAnd he does know bad ratings,\u201d Kimmel said. \u201cHe has some of the worst ratings any president has ever had. So on behalf of all of us, welcome to the crappy ratings club, Mr. President.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tKimmel continued, \u201cNext, he\u2019ll try to sue us. And I want to say good luck with that, because we thought about it, we packed the courts, and we have a surprise ace up our sleeve: Mr. Judge Steve Harvey.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe host also responded to claims that \u201cI go too hard on Donald Trump, to the point where there are still a lot of people who think I should be pulled off the air for making fun of Donald Trump.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSo I want to explain: I talk about Trump more than anything because he\u2019s a bully,\u201d Kimme said. \u201cI don\u2019t like bullies \u2013 I played the clarinet in high school. I just don\u2019t like them. Donald Trump is an old-fashioned Eighties movie-style bully taking your lunch money. And if you give it to him once, he\u2019ll take it again. Two things he loves: lunch and money.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last week, the network\u00a0abruptly suspended<\/a>\u00a0the long-running late-night series, citing an \u201cill-timed and thus insensitive\u201d monologue in which the comedian criticized right-wingers for trying to \u201cscore political points\u201d off the murder of Charlie Kirk. Kimmel kept quiet in the days that followed, while\u00a0Hollywood raised its voice on his behalf<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tLast night, Kimmel criticized<\/a> the Trump administration\u2019s attempts to pull him from the air. \u201cI barely paid attention in school, but one thing I did learn from Lenny Bruce and George Carlin and Howard Stern is that a government threat to silence a comedian the president doesn\u2019t like is anti-American,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I am so glad we have some solidarity on that from the right and the left and from those in the middle, like Joe Rogan. Maybe the silver lining from this is we found one thing we can agree on, and maybe we\u2019ll even find another one. Maybe we can get a little bit closer together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe late-night show broke records during its return. The episode drew 6.3 million viewers, about triple its average ratings, despite a quarter of ABC stations in the U.S. not airing the show.
