I would describe that as dochreidte \u2013 it is unbelievable.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Defence solicitor Donal Daly said: \u201cIt was not a situation where he was going to steal \u20ac200 or \u20ac300 worth of clothing or anything like that.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Daniel Hanlon of 201 Comeragh Park, The Glen, Cork, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a metal de-tagger with intent to use it in connection with a theft on December 23 2024 at Sports Direct, Blackpool retail park.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Mr Daly said that the defendant was not caught shoplifting or anything like that at the time, and that he was stopped for a drugs search and he handed over the de-tagger.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Garda Kate Sheehan said the defendant was fully cooperative with garda\u00ed on the day and afterwards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Inspector Brendan McKenna said the defendant had 73 previous convictions including five counts of theft and two of robbery.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Mr Daly said at Cork District Court that the accused had been out of trouble since 2021.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\">Judge O\u2019Leary ordered the defendant to do 60 hours of community service instead of three months in prison.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A District Court judge described as \u2018dochreidte\u2019 a man\u2019s claim that he did not know it was illegal&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":85285,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[76],"tags":[2013,18,19,17,132],"class_list":{"0":"post-85284","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-sports","8":"tag-cork-court","9":"tag-eire","10":"tag-ie","11":"tag-ireland","12":"tag-sports"},"share_on_mastodon":{"url":"","error":""},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/85284","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=85284"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/85284\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/85285"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=85284"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=85284"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=85284"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
