Dept. Q, the acclaimed police drama<\/a> starring Matthew Goode and Chloe Pirrie, will be returning for a second season.<\/p>\n

The Netflix<\/a> series follows DCI Carl Morck (Goode) as he leads a cold case department in Edinburgh’s police force, with the figure looking into the disappearance of lawyer Merritt Lingard (Pirrie).<\/p>\n

After a highly successful first season<\/a> in May, it has now been confirmed by the streamer that a follow-up is on the way, with the next instalment set to be based on another novel from Jussi Adler-Olsen’s series. <\/p>\n

“So, we are going downstairs to Dept. Q for a second season. We at Left Bank Pictures nervously await what Scott has in store for his alter-ego Carl Morck, and the other enabling members of team do-lally,” said executive producer Rob Bullock.<\/p>\n

Goode is set to reprise his role as Morck, with Alexej Manvelov, Leah Byrne and Jamie Sives also returning. Like its predecessor, filming will take place in Edinburgh, though a release date is yet to be announced. <\/p>\n

The first season proved to be a huge hit with audiences, with the series jumping to the top of Netflix’s trending charts<\/a> in June. It was also well received by critics, with Rotten Tomatoes<\/a> currently reporting an approval rating of 88% from 57 reviews.<\/p>\n
