Tributes have poured in for a \u201cbubbly and sweet\u201d girl who sadly passed away unexpectedly earlier this week, as her parents have asked those attending her funeral to \u201cwear an item of red in her memory\u201d.<\/p>\n
Emma Cooke-Tiernan sadly passed away \u201cfar too soon, surrounded by the ones she loved so very much\u201d on Monday, September 22.<\/p>\n
A Transition Year student of Col\u00e1iste R\u00edoga in Meath<\/a>, a death notice said that beloved Emma will be dearly missed by her adoring father, her big brother and her grandparents, as well as her extended family and large circle of friends.<\/p>\n A heartbreaking post on RIP.ie added: \u201cEmma will always be remembered for her caring nature, cheeky grin, quick wit, love for her dogs Lexi, Buster and Cai and more recently, her beloved lizard, whom she spent so much time training and hand feeding. Until we meet again Emma.\u201d<\/p>\n Tributes<\/a> have poured in for Emma following her passing, with her school, Col\u00e1iste R\u00edoga, posting a beautiful tribute to their student.<\/p>\n A post by the school read: \u201cCol\u00e1iste R\u00edoga wishes to express our deep sadness at the sudden passing of our Transition Year student, Emma Cooke-Tiernan.<\/p>\n \u201cWe extend our most sincere sympathies to Emma’s family, friends, and classmates at this time of immense loss. A Book of Condolence will be available in the school tomorrow for all those who wish to pay their respects. Ar dheis D\u00e9 go raibh a hanam\u201d.<\/p>\n A friend of Emma\u2019s penned: “I’m so sorry to everyone for this loss, Emma was truly an amazing girl. She’s been a friend of mine since first year and she’s amazing.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone deserves to know a girl like her and to have known her, rest in peace Emma, until we can see you again.\u201d<\/p>\n Another shared: \u201cBeautiful Emma, what joy you brought to our lives when we met you, you were a ray of sunshine, so bubbly and sweet.<\/p>\n \u201cOur hearts are broken for you and your family. We will always remember you with the same love and kindness that you put out to this world. You are loved and missed now by us all, Matilda is heartbroken. We will always keep you in our hearts and prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n A classmate wrote: \u201cEmma, your personality will be truly missed by everyone in the community and especially me, whether it was gossiping about others, having fun on the bus, having nerf battles in pollen that you’re allergic to (we had so much fun), pass the parcel with shoes on the bus it was all so much fun having your personality in the class and it’s going to feel weird not seeing you in class anymore when I’ve seen you for eight years now, you will never be forgotten Emma.\u201d<\/p>\n Emma will lay in repose at McEntaggart\u2019s Funeral Home, Dunshaughlin from 5pm until 8pm on Sunday, September 28.<\/p>\n Her funeral mass will take place on Monday, September 29 at 12pm in the Church of the Assumption, Dunsany followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.<\/p>\n Emma\u2019s family have asked all those attending the funeral mass to wear an item of red in her memory, with donations in lieu of flowers to the Asthma Society of Ireland in loving memory of Emma.<\/p>\n Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news from the Irish Mirror direct to your inbox: Sign up here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/0_Screenshot-2025-07-31-at-190436.png\")
