Scarlett Johansson thinks it was a \u201cgood\u201d thing that she wasn\u2019t \u201cimmediately comfortable\u201d when she walked on set to direct \u201cEleanor the Great.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf I were immediately comfortable, then it would probably not be the right thing,\u201d she told Page Six at a Cinema Society screening of \u201cEleanor the Great\u201d<\/a> on Wednesday night.<\/p>\n However, her nerves dissipated after a couple of weeks. \u201cOnce the crew\u00a0familiarizes themselves with one another and you understand more what\u2019s required of you on any shooting day, then it gets easier,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t say easier, but it gets more comfortable.\u201d<\/p>\n Scarlett Johansson spoke to Page Six at a special screening of her directorial debut, \u201cEleanor the Great.\u201d Page Six<\/p>\n The actress shared that she was nervous the first few days on set. GC Images<\/p>\n Johansson\u2019s first time behind the camera comes after spending decades in front of it. <\/p>\n She made her film debut as a child star in 1994\u2019s \u201cNorth\u201d and seamlessly transitioned to adult roles, balancing blockbusters like \u201cBlack Widow\u201d with critically acclaimed independent films like \u201cMarriage Story.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, she starred in the latest \u201cJurassic World\u201d sequel, appearing alongside Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali. <\/p>\n \u201cEleanor the Great,\u201d which will be released on Friday, stars June Squibb, 95, who, after losing her best friend, moves to New York City for a fresh start and strikes up a friendship with a young journalism student.<\/p>\n The actress added that being uncomfortable was probably the right response.
