{"id":88108,"date":"2025-09-27T04:16:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-27T04:16:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/88108\/"},"modified":"2025-09-27T04:16:10","modified_gmt":"2025-09-27T04:16:10","slug":"stiliyan-petrov-says-incredible-liverpool-player-should-be-writing-a-letter-to-the-fa-after-whats-happened","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/88108\/","title":{"rendered":"Stiliyan Petrov says &#8216;incredible&#8217; Liverpool player should be writing a letter to the FA after what&#8217;s happened"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Liverpool are without one player this weekend after he was sent off in the League Cup game against Southampton.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/tag\/hugo-ekitike\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Hugo Ekitike<\/a> received two yellow cards against the Saints, with his second offence being taking his shirt off in celebration of a goal which was assisted by Federico Chiesa to win the game for the Reds.<\/p>\n<p>The player\u2019s behaviour in receiving an unnecessary second yellow drew criticism, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rousingthekop.com\/club\/manager\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arne Slot<\/a> labelling his actions as \u2018needless and stupid\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>While it was rumoured that the Frenchman would receive a fine for his behaviour, the Dutchman confirmed in his latest press conference that no such punishment was awarded.<\/p>\n<p>The 23-year-old had issued an apology to fans and likely to his teammates on the night, but even so, he will miss the Crystal Palace game on Saturday. Listen, Ekitike, he\u2019s been incredible, I\u2019ve been really impressed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy dream was to play in the Premier League. I wanted to be a part of the exciting moments, scoring goals in front of full stadiums. Most players come to this league and they work every day, you score a goal and you get punished for that, I don\u2019t agree with it.
