Gareth Cattermole\/Getty Images<\/p>\n<p>A reporter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DPCh_bDjDr6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">from Entertainment Tonight<\/a> asked Knightley, 40, if there had \u201cbeen any conversations\u201d about returning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere haven\u2019t been any conversations. No,\u201d she responded, to which the reporter inquired, \u201cWhere would you like to see that character next?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat happened to her?\u201d she asked before confirming if she was actually in three movies. \u201cIt was a very long time ago and I also don\u2019t remember what happened to her. So I\u2019m not quite sure where she should go afterwards. Everything is on the page, and I think there\u2019s definitely, I\u2019m sure there\u2019s a way to create something,\u201d he said at Fan Expo Chicago, per\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ew.com\/orlando-bloom-says-pirates-of-the-caribbean-reboot-needs-everybody-back-11793285\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Entertainment Weekly<\/a>. \u201cI would personally love to see everybody back. I think the way to win on that one is to get everybody back. If they can, and if everybody wanted to go back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy thing is, if the script was great and \u2014 ideally it was everybody \u2014 it\u2019d be kind of like in for a penny, in for a pound, you know,\u201d continued Bloom.<\/p>\n<p>Knightley has <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/25\/entertainment\/keira-knightley-was-taken-down-over-pirates-of-the-caribbean\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">previously discussed how the Disney franchise<\/a> positively and negatively impacted her life while speaking with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/life-style\/celebrity\/article\/keira-knightley-turning-40-black-doves-0pt7gcdjh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">the Times<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Keira Knightley, Johnny Depp in the film franchise. \u00a9Buena Vista Pictures\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a funny thing when you have something that was making and breaking you at the same time,\u201d she mused. \u201cI was seen as s\u2013t because of them, and yet, because they did so well, I was given the opportunity to do the films that I ended up getting Oscar nominations for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey were the most successful films I\u2019ll ever be a part of, and they were the reason that I was taken down publicly,\u201d Knightley added.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo they\u2019re a very confused place in my head.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom in the original film. \u00a9Walt Disney Co.\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n<p>Due to her experience, Knightley has no plans of joining a franchise ever again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hours are insane. It\u2019s years of your life, you have no control over where you\u2019re filming, how long you\u2019re filming, what you\u2019re filming,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n<p>The movies also took a toll on Knightley\u2019s mental health. <\/p>\n<p>In 2018, she opened up about suffering a mental breakdown and being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder when she was 22.<\/p>\n<p>Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Swann. \u00a9Walt Disney Co.\/Courtesy Everett Collection<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn that classic trauma way I don\u2019t remember it,\u201d shared Knightley. \u201cThere\u2019s been a complete delete, and then some things will come up, and I\u2019ll suddenly have a very bodily memory of it because, ultimately, it\u2019s public shaming, isn\u2019t it? It\u2019s obviously part of my psyche, given how young I was when it happened. The whole project is shrouded in secrecy and Disney want to keep everything under wraps as best they can,\u201d the insider added.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the first five films grossing more than $4 billion worldwide, there hasn\u2019t been a new movie since 2017. <\/p>\n<p>In 2022, Depp was asked if he would return to the franchise during his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf Disney came to you with $300 million dollars and a million alpacas, nothing on this Earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a \u2018Pirates Of The Caribbean\u2019 film?\u201d Heard\u2019s lawyer asked at the time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat is true,\u201d Depp replied at the time.<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/11\/depp-pirate-01.jpg\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<script async src=\"\/\/www.instagram.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It\u2019s not a pirate\u2019s life for Keira Knightley.
