Scott Brown \/ Android Authority<\/p>\n<p>TL;DR<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Samsung is apparently preparing two AI-based connectivity toggles in One UI 8.5.<\/li>\n<li>Both of these toggles would automatically decide when your phone switches from mobile data to Wi-Fi.<\/li>\n<li>It seems like one toggle could let your phone automatically switch to mobile data based on places where you\u2019ve manually made the switch.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/best-android-phone-3563254\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Android phones<\/a> today offer an option to seamlessly switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi as needed. This is particularly useful if you\u2019ve got a poor Wi-Fi connection, allowing you to automatically switch to mobile data for a better experience. However, it looks like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/best-samsung-phones-771831\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Samsung<\/a> could offer two ways to customize this switch-over experience.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Don\u2019t want to miss the best from Android Authority?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sammyguru.com\/one-ui-8-5-brings-new-wi-fi-options-for-better-connectivity\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">SammyGuru<\/a> reports that One UI 8.5 has two AI-related toggles that govern when you switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data. The first toggle is called <strong>Intelligent Link Assessment<\/strong>, and switches your phone from Wi-Fi to mobile data based on \u201cWi-Fi link data.\u201d I\u2019m guessing this means the phone will look at your Wi-Fi connection\u2019s speed, latency, and other factors before deciding to switch. That\u2019s pretty similar to the option seen on phones from other companies.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the second AI-related toggle is called <strong>Intelligent Network Switch<\/strong>, and it will switch to mobile data based on \u201cWi-Fi handover history along the user\u2019s movement route.\u201d In other words, your Galaxy phone might automatically transition to mobile data in places where you\u2019ve previously had to manually switch.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"e_ih\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"Samsung One UI 8.5 mobile data switch toggles SammyGuru\"  alt=\"Samsung One UI 8.5 mobile data switch toggles SammyGuru\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Samsung-One-UI-8.5-mobile-data-switch-toggles-SammyGuru.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>SammyGuru also reports that One UI 8.5 has a <strong>Realtime Data Priority Mode<\/strong> toggle in the Wi-Fi settings menu. A snippet of text next to the toggle confirms that this mode will \u201cprioritize video calling and realtime gaming data over background data usage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"e_ih\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"Samsung One UI 8.5 realtime data priority mode SammyGuru\"  alt=\"Samsung One UI 8.5 realtime data priority mode SammyGuru\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Samsung-One-UI-8.5-realtime-data-priority-mode-SammyGuru-scaled.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>This toggle doesn\u2019t seem different from the <strong>Prioritize real-time data<\/strong> toggle seen in One UI 8, which also promises to give network priority to games, video calls, and other real-time data scenarios. Either way, this would be a welcome feature on more Samsung phones, especially if you\u2019re facing lag, stuttering, and other issues during a call or gaming session.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for being part of our community.
