{"id":89059,"date":"2025-09-27T15:15:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-27T15:15:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/89059\/"},"modified":"2025-09-27T15:15:12","modified_gmt":"2025-09-27T15:15:12","slug":"our-universe-is-trapped-inside-a-black-hole-worrying-new-research-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/89059\/","title":{"rendered":"Our universe is \u2018trapped inside a black hole\u2019, worrying new research claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have we been inside a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indy100.com\/topic\/black-holes\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">black hole<\/a> all this time?<\/p>\n<p>Our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indy100.com\/topic\/universe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">universe<\/a> has been around for and estimated 13.8 billion years but despite the exploration of space beginning almost seven decades ago, 95 percent of the cosmos is still undiscovered.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indy100.com\/topic\/james-webb-telescope\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">James Webb Telescope<\/a> (JWST), scientists are able to use infrared tech to capture and focus light to see further into space.<\/p>\n<p>Following its launch from Europe\u2019s Spaceport in French Guiana in 2021, the JWST has collected data on how stars and planets form, as well as water vapour in planet-forming disks, and it has detected carbon dioxide emissions from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indy100.com\/science-tech\/carbon-dioxide-escapes-buried-ocean#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Jupiter\u2019s Europa moon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A scientist has now claimed there may be evidence suggesting our entire universe is trapped inside a black hole. Lior Shamir, Kansas State University professor of computer science, believes the JWST has captured images could be evidence of this theory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"shortcode-media shortcode-media-rebelmouse-image\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"f7461\" data-rm-shortcode-id=\"87648d2efecb300df157250bdfac3cfb\" data-rm-shortcode-name=\"rebelmouse-image\" class=\"rm-shortcode rm-lazyloadable-image \" lazy-loadable=\"true\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns='http:\/\/www.w3.org\/2000\/svg'%20viewBox='0%200%207974%204484'%3E%3C\/svg%3E\" data-runner-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/nasa-released-the-first-official-image-the-supermassive-black-hole-at-the-centre-of-our-galaxy-in-20.jpeg\" width=\"7974\" height=\"4484\" alt=\"\"\/> NASA released the first official image the supermassive black hole at the centre of our galaxy in 2022Getty<\/p>\n<p>Shamir analysed images for the telescope\u2019s Advanced Deep Extragalactic Survey (JADES) and published the findings in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society. In the paper Shamir outlines how he employed a computer-aided quantitative method to analyse images of galaxy rotations captured by the equipment.<\/p>\n<p>He reported that out of the 263 galaxies in the JADES field, two-thirds rotated clockwise, while approximately one-third rotated counterclockwise. Typically, the number of galaxies rotating in one direction should mirror the number spinning in the opposite direction, making Shamir&#8217;s discovery an unexpected finding, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.k-state.edu\/news\/articles\/2025\/03\/lior-shamir-james-webb-space-telescope-spinning-galaxies.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">press release<\/a> issued by Kansas State University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe analysis of the galaxies was done by quantitative analysis of their shapes, but the difference is so obvious that any person looking at the image can see it,&#8221; the study\u2019s lead author said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is no need for special skills or knowledge to see that the numbers are different. With the power of the James Webb Space Telescope, anyone can see it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shamir has put forward two possible reasons as to why our universe\u2019s galaxies are spinning clockwise. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne explanation is that the universe was born rotating.
