Actor Glen Powell detailed an awkward moment he shared with a fellow actor on a Wednesday episode of the \u201cTherapuss with Jake Shane<\/a>\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

Powell, 36, known for his roles in 2022 action drama “Top Gun: Maverick<\/a>” and 2023 romantic comedy “Anyone But You<\/a>,” broke down the weird encounter.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was at a party and there was somebody that had basically been on the ropes in terms of sort of getting canceled,\u201d Powell said during the podcast. \u201cIt was one of those Hollywood parties where there\u2019s like cameras and press and all that stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

Powell said the actor \u2014 whom he did not name \u2014 had made some of his favorite movies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Oh, this is great.\u2019 He came up and he said, \u2018Nice to meet you.\u2019 I was like, \u2018Oh, dude. Such a big fan,\u2019\u201d Powell said. \u201cAnd then a photographer said, \u2018Hey, can we take a picture of you guys.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor evidently was willing to take a photo with him, but Powell admits he wasn\u2019t so keen.<\/p>\n

\u201cI realized very quickly \u2014 I was like, \u2018Oh, I don\u2019t know if this is a good idea.\u2019 He clearly clocked that I was like, \u2018Oh, this is probably not a good idea,\u2019\u201d said Powell, during the podcast. \u201cAnd I realized that this guy, his face is toxic. Going out into the world, people are having a visceral reaction to this person in terms of the bad choice they\u2019ve made.\u201d<\/p>\n

Powell, who is promoting his upcoming Hulu sports comedy series \u201cChad Powers<\/a>,\u201d compared the actor to the lead character he plays in the show named, Russ Holiday.<\/p>\n

In the series, Holiday is a disgraced college quarterback who disguises himself as Chad Powers to play for a down-in-out southern football team to revive his football career, according to IMDb<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cRuss Holiday is just a guy who made a mistake, he\u2019s not a bad guy,\u201d said Powell, during the podcast. \u201cSome of these other people who get canceled, they should lie where they\u2019re shot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Powell continues, \u201cIn today\u2019s day and age, cancel culture is just a thing where the world that doesn\u2019t let you forget your mistakes. With phones, with TikTok, with Instagram, so many people make mistakes and the world doesn\u2019t let you forget. And I found it to be interesting how people react to those moments.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cChad Powers\u201d will premiere on Hulu on Tuesday. Powell\u2019s latest film, \u201cThe Running Man<\/a>,\u201d is set to debut in theaters on Nov. 7, The Hollywood Reporter<\/a> confirmed.<\/p>\n
