On September 26, the groundbreaking ceremony for the new-generation 80GWh lithium battery project by CORNEX in Yichang was held in Longquan Town, Yiling District.
The CORNEX (Yichang) Lithium Battery Industrial Park project is one of the three major bases of CORNEX Company. Phase I commenced construction in August 2022 and officially commenced production in August 2023, releasing a production capacity of 65GWh and creating 5,000 jobs.<\/p>\n
The newly launched 80GWh next-generation lithium battery project in Yichang, adjacent to Phase I of CORNEX, involves a total investment of 22 billion yuan. It will primarily produce power batteries, energy storage batteries, and module packs, while also focusing on the R&D, manufacturing, and sales of energy management systems. Upon completion and operation, the project is projected to achieve an annual output value exceeding 22 billion yuan and create over 6,000 jobs.<\/p>\n
On September 25, Yichang CORNEX held an industrial chain investment promotion and project signing event in downtown Yichang. Sixteen industrial chain projects with a total investment of 14.2 billion yuan were signed, covering key segments of the new energy industry chain including positive and negative electrode materials, precision structural components, and battery cell manufacturing.<\/p>\n
