A woman who was rescued after falling 40ft from a cliff in south Dublin was rushed to hospital with serious injuries in an emergency multi-agency operation last night.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred at the Shanganagh cliffs and responded to by Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard.<\/p>\n
It had been dealing with a separate emergency involving an overturned jet ski in Dun Laoghaire when the Shanganagh emergency occured.<\/p>\n
Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard said it had been tasked to assist Dun Laoghaire lifeboat with the jet ski at around 7pm yesterday after two people were reported to be in the water after the jet ski capsized.<\/p>\n
The casualties were brought to the lifeboat station for treatment and the jet ski was towed to Coal Harbour and recovered from the water by the Coast Guard.<\/p>\n
While assisting with the jet ski, the Coast Guard team was tasked to Shanganagh cliffs where there were reports a person had fallen 40ft and had multiple serious injuries.<\/p>\n

The National Ambulance Service and a volunteer doctor from the Critical charity also assisted, and the casualty was winched to safety by the rescue helicopter 116 before being taken along with the doctor to Weston Airport for onward transport to hospital.<\/p>\n
The rescue team was stood down just before midnight.<\/p>\n
