Listowel Garda\u00ed rescued the young woman moments after she had managed to flee assailant\u2019s car\n<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed fear the cause of death may never be known<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed in Kerry have arrested a man in connection with an investigation into the alleged abduction of a woman in Listowel in the early hours of Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

The woman, aged in her early twenties, was walking home on the outskirts of the town at around 3.25am when a male pulled up alongside her in his car before dragging her into the vehicle and and driving off in the terrifying incident.<\/p>\n

But the woman bravely managed to fight the man off, while getting out of the car and fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n

Garda\u00ed on patrol in the area at the time observed the woman running along the road and quickly came to her assistance.<\/p>\n

A man in his early 20s was arrested for false imprisonment in connection with the investigation into the incident a short time later and is currently being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act. <\/p>\n
