A British man has been accused of raping a Norwegian tourist in an abandoned building on a Greek holiday island.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 25-year-old, who has not yet been named, is alleged to have lured the 24-year-old woman from a crowd before sexually assaulting her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Norwegian tourist, who was on holiday in Rhodes with her family, went out for drinks with her sister on the night of September 24 on\u00a0Orfanidou Street, a road full of bars and nightclubs on the seafront.<\/p>\n

There, she met a group of men including the 25-year-old Briton.<\/p>\n

He took her away from the group under the guise of wanting a conversation with her, before taking her to the abandoned building, according to local media.<\/p>\n

After hearing movement from outside the building during the alleged attack, she managed to escape and run to the beach, before returning to her hotel to ask her help.<\/p>\n

She picked out the alleged perpetrator in a police lineup, telling officers that one of the men ‘looks like him’.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

She said the perpetrator wore an earring and had drunk alcohol.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cops also took items of clothing she was wearing at the time of the attack, including her underwear, to be sent for laboratory tests.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Police said the suspect is thought to have been temporarily staying in a hotel in the Fanes area of Rhodes\u00a0<\/p>\n

It comes just two months after a Belgian teenager was\u00a0arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a young British tourist off Rhodes.<\/p>\n

The 16-year-old alleged victim told police that she had been groped twice without her consent while in the sea near the Ialysos seafront.<\/p>\n

She, with her father, complained that the 15-year-old suspect had made inappropriate contact in the water on the beach in front of their hotel.\u00a0<\/p>\n
