The duo had an infamous bust-up at St James\u2019 Park back in 2001, as Newcastle skipper Shearer ducked away from a swipe directed at him by United captain Keane in a heated exchange.<\/p>\n

Keane was sent off in that incident and he has never been complimentary towards Shearer since then, with his comments in the latest Stick To Football podcast confirming his disdain for his former rival has not waned.<\/p>\n

\u201cShearer was sneaky, sneaky elbows. I didn\u2019t admire people who were nasty, I don\u2019t like nasty people,\u201d he said last week.<\/p>\n

Now Shearer has given his response, as he was asked to comment by host Gary Lineker in the latest The Rest Is Football podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s amazing what rival pods will do to try and get a bit of PR,\u201d said Lineker with a smile.<\/p>\n

Shearer then replied: \u201cSomeone sent me that the other day, and then Micah [Richards] sent me it and Wrighty [Ian Wright] and we had a laugh. I mean, really, come on.”<\/p>\n

Lineker went on to chuckle as he claimed Shearer is \u201cliving in his head\u201d, with the Newcastle legend offering this final comment on Keane: \u201cSneaky and nasty… I mean, some of the tackles, come on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lineker then added: \u201cPot, kettle, black, and that kind of stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shearer previously suggested he was not a fan of Keane, as he offered up his opinions on their clash in 2001 in an interview with the BBC.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t like him. I had loads of rucks with him and I wasn\u2019t the only one,\u201d said the former striker, who turned down the chance to become a team-mate of Keane at Manchester United in favour of a move to his hometown club Newcastle.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a throw-in in the far corner where I stopped him taking an early throw. We were beating them at St James\u2019 and he wanted to take a quick throw-in and he\u2019d been at me all game as he normally was.\u200c<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was about three or four minutes before the end of the game. I can\u2019t remember exactly what I said, I called him some sort of name.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe got the red card and I remember having a little smile and thought \u2018I\u2019ve done you a kipper here.
