Samsung<\/a>\u2019s RegiStar<\/a> app for Galaxy smartphones and tablets, which is a module for the brand\u2019s Good Lock<\/a> app, lets people double-tap on their phone\u2019s back to perform a certain action, such as going back, taking a screenshot, and accessing a voice assistant. Well, the brand is working on integrating this feature into One UI with One UI 8.5<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

Android Authority has discovered a line of code in Samsung\u2019s upcoming Android 16<\/a>-based One UI 8.5 that mentions the term \u2018Double Back Tap.<\/strong>\u2019 Its description reads \u2018Gently tap the back of the phone twice while the screen is on.<\/strong>\u2019 It suggests that the brand is working on adding the double back-tap feature to One UI 8.5. That\u2019s not all.\n<\/p>\n

The firmware also had a list of actions that One UI 8.5 can perform when people tap on their phone’s back two times consecutively. Below are the things it can do:\n<\/p>\n

  3. Notifications<\/li>\n
  4. Open app<\/li>\n

    With that, Samsung mobile users will not have to install the RegiStar app to customise their phone to perform a certain action when they double-tap on the back of their device.\n<\/p>\n
