First published in 1818, the Gothic horror masterpiece will be given new life in paperback and e-book<\/a> on October 28<\/strong> via Penguin Books.<\/p>\n

The definitive cautionary tale about creativity, ambition, and isolation includes an introduction by del Toro<\/strong> along with cover art inspired by the film\u2019s poster.<\/p>\n

Obsessed with creating life, Victor Frankenstein plunders graveyards for the material to fashion a new being, which he shocks into life with electricity. But his botched creature, rejected by Frankenstein and denied human companionship, sets out to destroy his maker and all that he holds dear.<\/p>\n

Del Toro\u2019s adaptation opens in select theaters on October 17<\/strong> before streaming on Netflix on November 7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It stars Oscar Isaac<\/strong> (Dune) as mad scientist Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi<\/strong> (Saltburn) as Frankenstein\u2019s monster, Mia Goth<\/strong> (MaXXXine) as Elizabeth Lavenza, and Christoph Waltz<\/strong> (Inglourious Basterds) as Dr. Pretorius.<\/p>\n

Felix Kammerer<\/strong> (All Quiet on the Western Front), Lars Mikkelsen<\/strong> (\u201cAhsoka\u201d), David Bradley<\/strong> (Harry Potter), Christian Convery<\/strong> (\u201cSweet Tooth\u201d), Ralph Ineson<\/strong> (The Witch), and Charles Dance<\/strong> (\u201cGame of Thrones\u201d) round out the cast.<\/p>\n
