Liverpool suffered a really poor night in Istanbul as they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Galatasaray.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Reds could not get going in the Champions League, with a Victor Osimhen penalty enough to see them off on matchday two.<\/p>\n

Arne Slot has now led Liverpool<\/a> to consecutive losses, and to make matters worse, Alisson Becker<\/a> was forced off with an injury on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Hugo Ekitike appeared to pick up a hamstring injury<\/a> as well, and Liverpool now face a nervous wait to see how much football the Frenchman may miss.<\/p>\n

For Alisson, the sight of him missing football matches for Liverpool is not a new sensation. The Brazilian has picked up lengthy injuries in each of the past two seasons.<\/p>\n

And as he prepares for another spell on the sidelines, former Liverpool player Luis Garcia<\/a> has suggested what may happen in Alisson\u2019s absence.<\/p>\n

The incident which led to Alisson\u2019s injury looked innocuous enough. The 32-year-old made a good save from Osimhen, but knew straight away he had a problem.<\/p>\n

As he walked off, it was hard to ascertain exactly what Alisson had done, but Garcia predicted that he could miss a little while.<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably if he\u2019s out because of a muscle injury he\u2019s going to be out for a little while,\u201d the Spaniard told Amazon Prime Sport.<\/p>\n

Garcia also went on to suggest that Alisson\u2019s absence could actually be a double blow for Liverpool, with Giorgi Mamardashvili yet another new player being forced to get to grips with a dysfunctional team.<\/p>\n

\u201cMamardashvili has to step up,\u201d he said. \u201cHe\u2019s been proven, we know his quality and he\u2019ll get his opportunity, but it\u2019s another player you\u2019re going to have to put in to understand the kind of football Liverpool are playing\u201d<\/p>\n

Arne Slot rules Alisson out for Chelsea <\/p>\n

If Alisson\u2019s recent injury history is anything to go by, the Brazil international could miss a significant chunk of Liverpool\u2019s next fixtures<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What is certain is that Alisson will miss Saturday\u2019s match with Chelsea. When asked about his goalkeeper by Amazon post game, Slot confirmed as much.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s never positive if you go off like this,\u201d said the Liverpool head coach.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can be sure that he\u2019s not playing on Saturday, and we\u2019ll see how long it\u2019ll take.\u201d<\/p>\n

From bad to worse for Liverpool, on a night which will become much harder to put to bed following injury to such a key player. <\/p>\n
